Poetry
Sometimes it's hard to decide
Sometimes something better comes
Sometimes it's better if you just say no
Sometimes you take what you've got.
Milton's in charge of security
He has three terrier bulls
There is no building for him to check
There is no money he must protect.
The entire time
I was expecting commitment
She was busy designing
An escape clause.
The real trick to living
Is not to be flakey
The world is nuts and bolts
On a dotted line.
At least I made the effort
You can tell her that I tried
I walked into her exhibit
Then walked out the other side.
I met the gay playwright
On a country lane
He was speaking of lipstick
When it started to rain.
Nigel started a project
It became quite grand
He forgot what he was after
When it first began.
It's rather scruffy
Their little dog
He has bad breath
He pisses on the flowerbed.
I'm going underground
I'm joining underground movements
I'm consorting with criminals
Everything is planned.
It's a total gift
What are strings?
Pieces of nothing
Intertwined.
I suppose I should be shocked
Then I'd say I'm fine
But then I wonder...
Where's my special valentine?
'OPTIONS and OPTIONS and OPTIONS'
Everyone's afraid of the bad man
He's liable to rape and kill
He's swearing and scaring and horrid
And refuses to pay his bills.
There's no sense in feeling guilty
There's nothing to repent
Everything you do
Has its own punishment.
The wonders of marriage
He's jelly at the rails
Did I double check the flowers?
Did I let the doggie out?
There's so much screaming
Out my window
People with nothing to say
Always say it loud.
In Rugby Union
To lateral the ball
Is the coward's way out
But sometimes sublime.
I've given it up
Trying to figure it out
It's an insidious virus
Ready to mutate.
